Double Dark Chocolate Scones

Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups AP flour
- 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt - coarse
Everything else
- 6 Tbsp Unsalted butter - cold, chopped or grated
- 2/3 cup Dark chocolate - chunks or chips
- 1 Egg - large
- 1 cup Whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- Stir together dry ingredients in a stand mixer.
- Stir in butter until crumbly.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, cream, and vanilla.
- Stir chocolate into dry mix.
- Stir in liquid until a slightly dry dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface.
- Press into two discs about 3/4 to 1 inch thick.
- Cut each disc into 6 triangles.
- Bake on parchment 1 inch apart for 14 minutes.
Notes
Can top scones with powdered sugar, white chocolate glaze, etc.
